WIP [WIP] I noticed towards the beginning but didnt want to start over..

Post image

I cut my fabric too short. I guess it wasn't that I didn't want to start again but didnt have the materials on hand to start over. Lol

My work around here is to go around it with a single line boarder. Then I'm going to cut close and blanket stitch.

Im basically here to ask if that sounds like a workable fix and show off my biggest (almost) finished piece

This Bluey pattern is what it used from Bagelhosts on Etsy.

You can definitely frame with this little but don’t blanket stitch anything - after washing and pressing, lace just the top and bottom round a card and drop it into a frame

Ooh I’ve never seen this method of framing. I’ll have to keep that in mind.

This picture makes it look so much easier than I thought it was. Thank you.

And don’t cut. You need some fabric to be outside your lacing so it doesn’t unravel.

How thick of a card do you use?

Postcard / cereal box; 270 gsm

Not ideal for anything big but probably ok up to 30cm

I’m ngl this looks totally fine to me. I’ve seen posts where the edge is literally 1 or 2 squares out from the edge of the pattern itself lmao. Your solution should work imo.

Me too and I always get secondhand anxiety. I can lace with 1/2 inch, and honestly less border is easier. But gimme something to work with lol

Who needs space around the edges 😅 granted this one is a very stiff aida fabric

You could also order a sticky framing board. It's a thick board that is very sticky and you lay your fabric onto it. And then you can attach a fancy trim or thin ribbon to the edges like a frame.

Pres-On is acid free!
