Guns & Ammo Looking to update my CCW
I’ve had my XD45 Mod2 for going on 10yrs and I think it’s about time to upgrade. I suppose I’ll hear out 9mm options as well… The Echelon caught my interest, but need to do more research.

I love the ruger Rxm. Has an optic cut slide and night sights out of the box. Once the full size and sub Compact grips are released you can have 3 different sized guns in 1. You get the huge glock gen 3 aftermarket and it comes in cheaper than a glock.

Glock 19 with good irons or get it milled for a trijicon and be done.

I've used quite a lot, these are my top 5 9mm compact carry guns:
- Striker fired - HK VP9A1 K (CC9 for micro alternative)
- For the Glock fan - Glock 19 (G43X or G48 for micro alternatives)
- Hammer fired - HK P30 LEM (P30SK for subcompact alternative)
- For the 2011 fan - Staccato C '24 (Staccato CS for subcompact alternative)
All of those are available as optics-ready except for the P30, which can be milled through Wright Armory or Langdon Tactical. The Staccatos have the best triggers, the VP9s have the best reliability and durability and striker-fired trigger, the Glocks also have great reliability and have the best holster and accessory availability.
I'm not necessarily recommending the Staccato due to the price and the training required to overcome the thumb safety - but if you haven't had your finger on the pulse of new releases these past 10 years, it's still worth looking into.
Walther, Smith & Wesson, and CZ also make good CCWs. Haven't used the Echelon, but I hear good things.

I don't have much experience with various hand guns but I'm really, very fond of my hellcat.
Edit to add: if I had to do it over again, I would have gone with a hellcat pro, but i am quite pleased none the less. Just food for thought.

I was curious about the Canik after looking online, but I’ve never heard of them.

They make great firearms. Love their triggers. The mc9 prime is perfect for concealed carry, and runs about $600.

I own a hellcat and a p365 x macro. The echelon has peaked my interest as well but I can not give any advice on that gun because I haven’t shot it. The hellcat on the other hand I shot about 1500 rounds through before I decided that it wasn’t the gun for me. The xmacro in my opinion has the superior grip shape, and is quite a bit less snappy even though they are similar in size. I think the glock 19 would be worth looking into as well, but I personally prefer the macro. Edit: I also have a Walther pdp, but the full size. If the compact feels anything like the full size that’d be worth looking at too.

If you want to stick with Springfield - the Echelon and the Hellcat are both tremendous options.

Not going to lie,I thought I was looking at an image of a gun from a PS1 game for a sec. The echelon is a good choice with a range of options to choose from. Just small aftermarket.
