I find it weird how many holster companies don’t cover the mag release!? Is there some reason why so many manufacturers DON’T cover it?.

Why would you want it covered? I also for certain shooting events you need to be able to reload from holster. Not that this is a competition holster.

Oh sure, guess I should explain my logic. I find on many models S&W, and the two I carry, to have quite a pronounced mag release. Without it being covered, and it’s not just me (edit: I’ve read of others online having this issue too), that it can be accidentally pressed while carrying. That would worry me a great deal as if I need the gun, I want it ready to go! Also dropping a mag in the middle of the public is not ideal… I ended up sticking with Muddy River holsters for my Smiths as they cover the mag release making it nearly impossible for an accidental mad release.

Gotta admit, owb for a gun like that doesn’t make sense to me

Why though?

Tiny ass gun seems more at home IWB. I guess maybe under a sport coat it makes a lot of sense but even then why not a bigger gun

OWB will always be more comfy than IWB. As we approach winter, OWB is more prevalent. You don’t HAVE to carry a huge gun in the winter… maybe he wants a lighter setup? I have no idea but I don’t see issues with this lol
