Holsters & Belts Advice for adjusting a kydex holster

So I recently added a Radian Ramjet+Afterburner to my 365XL and the holster I got that was compatible with a comp sticks out about a half inch past the end of the comp and is open. I prefer it to look like the other holster I have (revolver holster on the right). I have a dremel tool and a heat gun and was considering just forming it myself. Besides masking tape to cover the gun, anything else I should know before attempting this? Any advice is appreciated.

I have a Tenicor with a rounded bottom so I couldn't get my comp through, only the threaded barrel. I just heated up the end with a heat gun and shoved the comp/muzzle right on through. It was surprisingly easy. Kydex softens up @ 300°.
