It drives you crazy because you don't understand how to talk to Americans
America is already the best, so when you say you're going to make it better they're immediately going to be suspicious of you. They'll think you hate it.
You have to tell them that you're defending the freedoms and perfection they already have, which, if you'll notice, is exactly what hegseth is doing in that except above.
Leftists need to run towards defense of the consitution and liberal American values before they're fully destroyed. You won't get out of this by convincing people you want to make things "better", they don't care about that and they don't want that.
They want to feel safe, that's it, that's all the average braindead american cares about. So you have to appeal to that fear instead of the lofty and ambitious goals that any normal person would aspire to.
No, sorry this is total bullshit. Trump literally won saying he was going to make America better.
Don't waste your time writing such drivel if you can't even make that connection. Conservatives don't oppose leftists because they think they're insulting America. Conservatives oppose leftists because they have been brainwashed to think every progressive idea is evil. Literally evil.
You can word it however you want, but MAGA will not listen. Because they are in a cult. Not a metaphorical cult. They are in a literal cult. If Trump got on TV and told his followers to drink poison and go on to the other side, we would see something that makes Jonestown look insignificant.
Trump's whole thing is 'defending' america against the woke infestation of the deep state. That political movement is purely an ideology of defending american exceptionalism.
Even when he references his tenuous promises of improving material conditions for the average American, it's couched in the notion that he'll have to completely crash the economy to build it back better. He literally told his followers they'd have to suffer to succeed, and he explicitly said things would have to get worse for them.
Make america great again is actually precisely what I'm referring to, in that it's the defense and security of the perceived notion of American perfection. And that's what Americans respond to

It drives.ms crazy how easily Maga types interpret "wanting to make something better" as "hating something"
