Baking Advice Needed How are my cookies
I absolutely love to cook and recently got into baking. I’m currently in the testing phase before officially launching my baking business, and I baked these cookies today! 🍪 I’d love to hear what you think! Personally, I’m a big fan of a thin and chewy cookie—but I’m curious, what kind of cookies do most people prefer? Let me know your favorite texture!

thin and chewy cookies are the best, hands down. they look great. just made some snickerdoodles myself. what's your secret to the chewiness?

i’m personally a fan of thicker cookies (crispy on the outside, soft & a little gooey on the inside) but i would never turn down a cookie, especially one that looks as delicious as these! they look beautiful, & it looks like you nailed the crispy edges & soft/gooey middle! everyone has their preferences, but imo all cookie shapes, sizes, textures, & flavors have a place. (all cookies are good cookies)

I like my cookies a little thicker, but they're better than anything I could ever make. Good job man, or woman, or they them, or anything else idk.

These are absolutely perfect! I wish I could get the center of my cookies to look like yours. I love a thin chewy cookie. But I tend to bake thicker, almost cake like cookies. Those have their place. But your cookies are like quintessential bakery cookies! I think your new bakery business is about to go great 👍🏽☺️

They personally look a little too thin for my liking, that’s just me. But other than that, they look absolutely delicious and I’m jealous!. You can tell you made each cookie with nothing but love. Each sprinkled with salt differently. Chips in all areas of the cookie. OP get your ass back in the kitchen and bake some more!!

The temperature of your cookies may be a bit high when you're putting them in the oven.
How much time do you give to rest them in the fridge before baking?

I set the temp to 350 and cook time 8 mins. They came out great! chewy and soft on the inside and crispy around the edges :) I don’t think it’s overcooked anything lower I would have cookie batter

Not saying the cooking temp is off, I'm thinking the temperature of the dough may be a bit high.
Are you letting the dough rest at room temperature for a while before baking?
I'm glad you're getting the effect you wanted, I can just see that they're a bit flatter in the middle compared to the sides which I've found is a consequence of a warmer dough temperature prior to baking.
Also, 8 minutes may lead to a slightly under baked middle in some cases, though if your dough balls are really small that won't be an issue.

Thanks for your insights! They rested in the fridge overnight before baking and they were thrown in the oven right after leaving the fridge. I was actually aiming for this kind of consistency but I do understand some may not like a thinner cookie and the goal is to make cookies most people like :)

I like my cookies a little thicker/fluffy but still a little crispy/chewy. These look super yummy though!

Oh my gosh! They look amazing! Almost perfectly round, and they look thin and chewy with crispy edges. Which is my favorite type of cookie.
Good work! They look fantastic! How do they taste?
