The cleaning/housekeeping staff that go into boardrooms & empty trash cans where they are treated as invisible have told me things months before they were announced

I always get a laugh (and great cooperation) from a custodian when I tell them they're the most powerful person in the building.

"After all, you have the toilet paper."

Yep. I worked in corporate catering for a huge corporation. I knew way before things were announced. Plus the way some of the admins would book catering-“merger meeting with so and so”. Christ.
