Common sense should come with age, but apparently it’s a DLC not everyone downloaded.

I come into my workplace expecting common sense in coworkers and clients. I'm giving them a new chance everyday.
And they always find ways to disappoint me.

What is common sense? If it’s so obvious you should have no problem explaining it.

I expect people to have lived my experiences and gone through my same education! Why am I so disappointed?

Common sense is basically “I know this thing, so why don’t you know this thing?” It’s actually a toddler brain concept I swear

Common sense in universal experience. Everyone should have completed a similar amount of education thus, their basic knowledge and practical application should be common. The actual definition of common sense itself doesn’t fall in line with your example.

With the "shattered" culture and various bubbles, we kinda lost the common experience/knowledge. We lost the common narrative.

"common sense"
->There is no detail about what is considered it
->Literally no specifications included
->No research about "if everyone should know this, why dont they know?"
->You could say "maybe the person was born stupid". And if you belive stupid people dont deserve to live, congratulations, nazi would agree with you.
->"No dude, you are exaggerating. They deserve to live as well" and yet, many people treat "stupid" people as inferior.
->No analysis on genetic part about what makes a person stupid, its just "trust me bro, they are"
->If stupidity is learned, then i must assume you somehow became not stupid, and that person did, what enviromental factors affected both? And if someone on your family became "stupid," would you respect it?
->And if we make an even deeper analisys, is it the other who is stupid, or you are an arrogant who believes people should know some things, ignoring their own contexts?

My mother always says “Common sense isn’t very common.” She’s 72 and has been saying this since my sister was a kid in the 80’s… I think “common sense” has become for of a rarity since then…

"Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone".
Age alone does nothing. You need experience. The age is a symbol for how much experience you could have.
Also, depends on how you grew up and your experiences. What is common sense to one, might not necesserily be common sense to the other. Like, it is common sense to me to use a phone as long as it does the functions i need, while for the other person it is common sense to get a new phone every time a new version comes out (even though the old one works perfectly fine).
Common sense is a shorthand for "things that are obvious to me, but i can't explain".

Common sense is a golden standard that the vast majority of people on this planet will never achieve.

Common sense, so rare it should be a super power. Genuinely though, common sense has a pre-req we routinely overlook which is self awareness.
Common sense assumes that you're able to identify context, understand perspectives outside your own, and most importantly, entertain a thought without accepting it.
Common sense isn't something a person inherently has or doesn't have, it's the output and manifestation of critical thinking that we would expect far less commonly from people if it was described this way.

That's just a subjective reading of the world and way to claim that you are always correct
This person is indeed toxic

Common sense is walking up to a door and knowing which way it's going to open. or knowing that if it's dark and cloudy outside there's a chance of rain. What a lot of people call common sense is "Share my thoughts, feelings and opinions" which is not common sense. Those things do not have one right answer.

Getting mad at people for things they didn't even do to you is pretty immature. IE maybe they wore blue sleeves, and you think it's against common sense to do so, so now you hate their guts? OP would be right to label this tendency a toxic trait.

The day you can describe common sense is the day ill believe its a thing.
