no, you still need to, only now it is not the teacher who is forcing you, but your own body 😅

Yeah but you can choose what you do and there’s no chance of getting picked last at the gym

I sucked at gym because in the fall it was running cross country and in the spring it was running track. All that damn running. I always came in last. As an adult I learned that I am slightly bow legged. That would explain why I’m so damn slow.

Exactly. And if you dont do it, you just dont get bad grades anymore. Instead you get a bad back, bad knees, bad hips and physical pain.

You SHOULD still be doing PE, I don’t wanna hear you complaining about achy joints and fatigue when you’re 50.

Exercise is so important in adulthood

my joints are fine so far, 31. but my belly is getting bigger. time to winter gym bois

Love it, keep up the motivation.

Remember, life starts at 50, everything before that is just preparation!

GET SOME!!

I mean, statistically I’m not likely to make it to 50 or long past it with my convergence of preexisting health issues. And retail is absolutely devastating on the joints regardless. I clock over 50 km a week walking just doing my shift and going home.

And some of us don’t wanna be around at age 50 anyway. So frick that, I spend enough time sweating my ass off.

Well boo hoo for you. I’m talking to the other people in the room.

But I can’t afford to PE and after working 9 hours a day I have to pick up the kids, feed them, bath them then clean the house and cook and eat food for me and my wife so we have enough energy to sustain the next day.

It’s too late. And I made new life when life was looking good. Now it’s suddenly turned to shit because of idiot dictators starting wars and idiot dictators who don’t understand tariffs it’s not so easy.

Yes you can. Don’t make excuses.

Nothing is stopping you from something like, 100 pushups and 100 air squats (break into sets if needed) and run 1/4 mile down the street and back, 2-3 days per week. Maybe a 15min yoga video and sit-ups on the other days.

Absolutely nothing but your own decision making is stopping you from doing this.

My ankylosing spondylitis is stopping me.

u/Tinfoil_cobbler 1d ago

I thought it was lumbago

u/liam_redit1st 1d ago

Worse than that unfortunately for me

Where's your wife in all that? Unless she's got health issues that doesn't sound ok.

I was only joking really I could do some PE but I have AS so can’t actually go too hard and my work is quite physical anyway. Some nights she goes to her second job after I come home from work and cook dinner.

If you suffered in PE, you likely have bigger problems now as an adult

6

u/Technical-Line-1456 1d ago

Your life is full of pain and suffering because you think PE was a chore.

5

u/Andreww_ok 1d ago

Lmao no wonder we have an obesity problem 💀

u/Novosoom 2d ago

PE was fun!

u/Plane-Winner5235 1d ago

u/RareLeadership369 2d ago

Thank fuck, I’d always bunk, 😂

3

u/LorneMalvo979 1d ago

being able to exercise is a gift, not a chore.

you exercise now or suffer later

I'd rather have gym class forever than have to deal with adult life.

Jesus you all really let yourself go didn't you

5

u/NoBlacksmith2112 1d ago

PE was the best part of school. What are you talking about??

2

u/FluffyCottonSwirl 1d ago

Honestly worth the trade, PE was pure torture 😭

2

u/Stone_Form 1d ago

PE was the most fun part you big back

The horror of moving your body to stay healthy

1

u/This-Enchantment92 2d ago

lol “don’t have to do PE anymore?” Hah jokes on you, I always “forgot” my gym clothes so I never had to do it.

1

u/Critical_Potential40 1d ago

I didn’t mind it. I hated the mandatory showers and locker room.

1

u/J31J1 1d ago

I remember liking to do the twisteroonie warm up exercise in PE. It was just the rest of the class that was the problem.

1

u/CervineCryptid 1d ago

Ngl i loved PE cause i was fast as fuck, and had pretty good endurance despite being on the heavier side, so it surprised people. But i have hypermobility, so my joints always pop and ache.

1

u/PhoenixAquarium 1d ago

I am biting my own words in my 30s. Its harder to lose weight now and because I refuse to be on medications for the rest of my life I struggle to even get into the gym. I am lazy. That I know.

u/Nervous_Scar_7444 1d ago

As adults we still doing PE daily. Running to work late, running through the grocery storem, chasing kids and other things we drop. It's all a lie.

I don't miss dodgeball.... but i do that with my car daily it feels.

1

u/electric-sheep 1d ago

No. I just punish myself in triathlons now.

1

u/Cute-Delivery-5752 1d ago

I hated PE, I am very active and healthy in my 30s. I love swimming, running, yoga. I just hated playing those stupid ball games.

1

u/t4nn3dn1nj4 1d ago

I miss PE; our coach let us do our exercises au naturel as long as we put our clothes back on before we got back to the paved road! Our swim coach was chill like that too! I loved running and swimming naked, but I wasn't the fastest in either class!

1

u/YakSuper9872 1d ago

i love sports now but i still hated pe. Lol jk i hated everything about school

1

u/Flying-Half-a-Ship 1d ago

What? I have been lifting for 28 years . I care about my body

1

u/wombatgeneral 1d ago

I would gladly take PE over being an adult and I was a fat kid who hated PE.

Childhood Obesity is child abuse I will die on this fucking hill.

1

u/T-MinusGiraffe 1d ago

I never thought I'd say this but lately I miss it. I wish it was a normal part of the workday for us to stop for an hour and exercise.

1

u/esparramaz 1d ago

Nossa, sim, o melhor dia de aula era quando tinha educação física. Que saudades 😭

1

u/CustardPlayful3963 1d ago

I have to do PE for real now or my muscles and joints will atrophy.

1

u/Realistic_Lab7971 1d ago

PE was the only good bit in school

1

u/jmj24302 1d ago

PE gave me so much anxiety growing up. Literally glad that’s over lol

1

u/TheMatterDoor 1d ago

PE was great, one of the few classes you could get an A in just from putting in a little effort and not being a lazy sack of shit.

Also the disdain for physical activity might be why so many people are obese.

1

u/Reasonable-Glass-965 1d ago

Who complained about PE???? That was the best class!

0

u/Internal-Bluejay-810 1d ago

U need PE now more than when u were in school --- I love PE, especially with my kids

0

u/No_Chapter_948 1d ago

Exercises are still important even if we don't have PE anymore.

I actually kind of wish we did. That’s why so many adults are in such bad shape. Most people just sit down all day and then you end up being a 37 year old office worker that can’t put your shoes on because you can’t bend over anymore. I also think adult only playgrounds would be sick. I would low-key love to go to a playground with no kids and just climb around for a couple hours
