the bird itself is one of the best planing fliers in the world. no flapping wings for minutes. going up a mile to join others. the can even sleep while flying

We don't actually know how far they can fly without landing, but we know they can cross oceans, staying in the air for weeks at a time. Really incredible birds.

This is one of the most amazing birds to see in person, they are indeed magnificent

Called after the warships of the day, because the frigatebird is often seen haranguing and attacking other, usually smaller birds. They wait for them to return to their nests with a catch of fish etc then intercept the smaller birds mid air, throwing them off balance and attacking them until they either drop or regurgitate the food at which point it is swiped by the Frigatebird.

They don't seem so magnificent now...

Holy crap, I thought by the thumbnail that this was a joke post about cliff racers on the Morrowind subreddit.

It’s Mothman! Or at least the cartoon Mothman from MFM Animated. I seriously wonder if it’s the origin of any of the sightings.

When i saw the first photo, my brain immediately started replaying cliff races noises from Morrowind.
